Activities Undertaken

The trust is creating awareness among society, regarding birds and their importance, imparting nature education to the society by organizing field trip, workshops, seminar, exhibition, bird-watching trip, nature camp etc. The trust is actively engaged in activity to promote the conservation of birds and their habitats. The trust is participating in various bird conservation activities organized by NGOs and state Forest department.

  • Since January 2002 on regular basis members are participating in Asian Waterbird Census. The count forms are being scrutinized and forwarded to the National Coordinator and International Coordinator regularly.
  • Publication of the society newsletter “Flamingo” initiated in 2003.
  • Workshop on “Status of Vultures in Gujarat State” organized in September 2004 at Anand. About 325 persons participated in the workshop.
  • Published a “Checklist of the Birds of Gujarat”.

Society was Knowledge partner in all Global Birdwatcher’s Conferences (GBWC) organized by Gujarat Tourism Corporation.
